It is a collaborative project - with bassist, Phil Palombi, and drummer,
Keith Hall. What makes it really exciting for me is that these are
guys I work with A LOT as sidemen with Curtis Stigers. I think the
level of communication you gain from working together so much really comes through on this recording of mostly original material. We even got Curtis to make a guest appearance on one track!

About the Tri-Fi Recording
Matthew, Phil and Keith have been working together regularly as Curtis Stigers' band for the last few years. While performing with Curtis in NYC in June 2004, a couple days were set aside to record this new album. The album is almost entirely made up of original compositions - four contributed by Matthew, three by Phil, and three by Keith - plus one arrangement of a standard where Curtis Stigers lends his vocal talents. It's an album with a wide mix of music - and a representation of the kind of musical communication that only comes from a "working band." Give it a listen!
